Computer Lab

The University of Regina Students' Union has 22 computer stations conveniently located beside the Front Desk open for all students to use 24/7 (except for University Holidays). These computers are free to use and will never be booked for a class or lab. We only ask that you stay aware of other people who may need to use the computers. All of these computers are connected to a printer that allows you to print reports and assignments with your @uregina.ca account.

Logging On

To use the computer, just log in with your @uregina.ca student account or with the Generic Username assigned to each computer.

Note: If you want to print or save documents, you MUST log in with an @uregina.ca account.

1. Find an available computer
2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to start
3. Read the notice for using the machine. At the bottom of the notice you'll find the generic username for the computer you are using.
4. Type in either your @uregina.ca username and password OR the generic username and leave the password blank.
6. Click "Ok" to start using the computer.
7. Logout when you are finished using the machine.

What is my @uregina.ca account?

Upon enrolling at the U of R, each student is assigned a Student ID and an @uregina.ca email address. Many services on campus require you to use either your Student ID or @uregina.ca email address to use them.
You will need to log in with your @uregina.ca account if you wish to save your files or print using the lab's printer. This is because files are stored on the University's network under your account so that they can be accessed from any U of R computer terminal. Your account is also required to print so that it can be billed for each page you print.

To find out what your @uregina.ca username is, please follow these instructions. Once you've found out what your username is, we highly recommend you change your password.

Instructions for enabling printing on your student account

In order to print using the printers in the computer lab you will need to enable printing. The U of R uses a system that bills printing charges directly to your student account. Your student account will be billed for each page that you print.

First, log into your computer using your @uregina.ca student account. If you don't know what this means, read the section above. Next, please follow these instructions to complete the process of enabling

Note: Always remember to logout of the computer that you are using when you are finished using it. You are responsible for all printing that's done using your account; even printing that happened when someone else used your account because you forgot to logout.
