➤ Poster Regulations
-
The number of posters a student may use is 50.
-
Posters are not to exceed the dimensions of 11 X 17 as per the poster policy of URSU.
-
Posters may be in full colour
-
Slates/students may print multiple posters and rotate them around campus if they wish so long as they have been approved prior to hanging by the CRO, do not exceed the limit of 50, and conform to the URSU poster policy. (if you are rotating posters or taking down one series of posters to replace with others please advise the CRO of this as well)
-
If candidates/slates have posters they have not used they must still be claimed as an election expense. Campaigns are encouraged to print more than the limit of 50 just in case of damage
-
Banners are permitted but are counted towards your poster limit in 11X17 blocks
-
Students whom are part of a slate are still limited to their own 50 posters. If a slate wants to create a poster of its candidates it must draw from the pool of its members in contested seats. Meaning if a student slate (i.e. “Democratic Union”) consisted of 6(six) students they would have a total of 300 posters. However, if two of those students, who were part of the slate, were not in contested seats and acclaimed then the total number of posters available to the slate is reduced to 200, (4 candidates in contested seat x 50 posters each)
-
Each of those students (in contested positions) could donate to the slate as many posters as they wished but each member of the slate will have to account how those are allocated. So for example if the 4 students running under the slate name “Democratic Union” decided to print 40 posters each for their own campaign, and then participate in a slate poster and donate 10 posters each from their own pool to a slate poster that is okay. Alternatively if the 4 members of a slate want all of their posters to be slate posters then the “Democratic Union” slate could have 200 posters on campus
-
Students and slates must clearly identify what positions each candidate is seeking and cannot use one poster to campaign for multiple elections. Meaning, Candidate X must print separate posters for i.e. President, Executive Council, and Senate. It is permissible for these posters to be of the exact same design, but just different text indicating which of the three positions Candidate X is seeking.
-
Students participating in a slate must clearly identify their election expenses and how costs have been shared among students participating in a slate. Many slates simply divide costs evenly among their members
